According to the CSOs, government must formulate a roadmap to fight reported cases of corruption, ahead of the operations of the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

The CSOs made this known when a delegation from the group led by the Executive Director of the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development, (CDD-Ghana), Prof. Emmanuel Gyimah-Boadi paid a courtesy call on the President at the Flagstaff House.

He expressed the hope that the government will ensure the passage of the Right to Information Bill to aid the fight against corruption.

"We partly understand why it couldn’t be passed but we also take your campaign promise [to pass it] to heart," he added.

He stressed that the action must be now and Ghanaians must immediately see something happening as far as dealing with corruption is concerned.

Nana Addo in the run-up to the 2016 general elections promised to set-up an Independent Prosecutor’s Office which will be one of the measures his administration will undertake to fight corruption in the public sector.

He has maintained that the Special Prosecutor's office will take away the perception or reality of partisanship in the area of public prosecution.
